Any sort of welded structure built from the commonly used carbon and low-alloy constructional steels is covered by the welding specifications in this code. A set of guidelines for the control of welding in steel construction can be found in clauses 1 through 11. This code contains eleven informational and eight normative annexes. The standard includes specifications regarding diameter and width limitations for plug or slot welds. It mandates that the minimum diameter of a hole or the width of a slot where a plug or slot weld is to be deposited must not be less than a certain value, ensuring structural integrity.
