How to do the Bresle Patch Test using an Elcometer Bresle Test Patch
The Bresle Patch Test is a quick and easy way to determine the concentration of salt on a surface prior to coating. The test is performed using an Elcometer Bresle Test Patch, which consists of a patch of conductive adhesive with a built-in reference electrode.
Materials Needed:
- Elcometer Bresle Test Patch
- Distilled water
- Spray bottle
- Conductivity meter
Instructions:
- Clean the surface to be tested with distilled water and a clean cloth.
- Peel the backing off of the Elcometer Bresle Test Patch and apply it to the surface.
- Spray the patch with distilled water until it is fully saturated.
- Attach the conductivity meter to the reference electrode on the patch.
- Take a reading of the conductivity and compare it to the chart provided with the Elcometer Bresle Test Patch to determine the concentration of salt on the surface.
It is important to note that the Bresle Patch Test should only be used as a guide and the results should be confirmed by further testing. The test should also be performed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and any relevant industry standards.
